Gault Davison attorney Michael Edmunds successfully represented a plaintiff in an environmental case in Lapeer in May. He represented the owner of a building. The building next door had been a laundromat. Toxic chemicals were released into the ground and migrated into the plaintiff’s building, endangering the occupants of the building. Plaintiff sued to recover the money it spent on a vapor removal system, and to force defendant to clean up the property. On the day of trial, defendant agreed to reimburse plaintiff for its response costs and to the entry of a court order requiring defendant to clean up the property.
