In November 2025, attorney Michael Edmunds successfully defended an employment lawsuit in which the Plaintiff claimed he was the victim of discrimination, retaliation, and hostile work environment based on his race. He had worked for the defendant restaurant as a cook before quitting. The jury did not award him any money. The case is Gaines v Platinum, and was tried in the Oakland County Circuit Court. Judge Cohen presided over the trial.
